Well, it was very interesting to create a lesson using a child book. The book that I and my colleague chose is wonderful! The name of the book is "The Little cat baby". The story shows the choice of the a couple of a baby cat. The book has some new words mainly for my students because they are in the basic level. Maybe, I can use this book in a class with students that have for about 11-12 years old. I work with high school and I think in my reality it won't work. But I am sure that I can adapted with another book and situation because my students have about 15-18 years old. It is another reality. I've already worked with 6° year (the children are 11-12 years old) this kind of activity is very effectively.
You are right! This activity can definitely be adapted for older/more advanced students. I've done this activity with students ages 12-16, in addition to elementary kids. You can use any book, or even news articles or stories.
